2nd Generation - 280ZX
In 1979, the S30 was replaced by the S130 chassis and was sold as the Datsun 280ZX (again focusing on the .S. market). It was produced from 1978 to 1983 and became known as the 2nd generation Z-car. The 280ZX was the first time where the "By Nissan" subscript was badged alongside the Datsun logo. The 280ZX was Motor Trends Import Car of the Year for 1979. A Turbo option was introduced in 1981.
